I have been working hard for the last few months as Chair of the Parish Plan Steering group. This has spent time looking at the future of the Parish and preparing a survey for completion by as many households as possible living in the parish area.
The Parish Council decided that there needed to a public consultation on the future development of the Parish in the context of the start of the Cornwall Unitary Authority in 2009. I was elected by the council to lead the process and ensure that we put together a steering group that represented the main interest groups, community groups, business, education and anyone else interested in working towards the production of the Plan.
This group has deliberated since formed and the household survey is nearly ready! This will be delivered to as many Illogan residents as possible to ensure we get the maximum response. It will also apear in the Illogan Review, published by the Illogan Regeneration Group, and on the Parish Council website (see link)
With the imminent demise of Kerrier District Council and the start of the new Cornwall Unitary Authority the views of the parishioners of Illogan on the future of the parish are most important. So please take the time to fill it in and get it back to us.
The Survey should be completed and analysed by the late Spring and then we will be reporting back on the findings and writing the Plan. There will be public meetings and other opportunities for further feedback .Leave a comment
